“Open The Gift”

Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
I hope your day is being blessed by the Lord.Beloved, if I stopped by your house or apartment and brought you a beautifully wrapped gift and set it in your living room, that gift would be yours. It’s in your home. I gave it to you. There’s nothing you could do to make it “more” yours or “less” yours. Now, you could see that present and be very excited. You could call your friends and tell them about it. You could even write me a thank you note. But, you really can’t enjoy the gift until you open it. It wouldn’t do you any good until you put it to use.
In other words, you have to receive that gift before it affects your life.
Beloved, it’s the same way with spiritual gifts. God has a package of grace, favor, mercy, forgiveness, blessing, joy, peace and so much more available to you. But you have to receive it by faith in order for it to affect your life. You can’t earn it. You can’t pay for it. You simply have to receive it by faith.
Today my friend, if you’ve never received the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, that’s the first gift to receive. Then once you become a child of His, you can partake of His glorious inheritance.
But first, you have to open the gift.“To God Be the Glory!!!”

Our Body is the Holy Spirit’s Home

Every time we hear a news program that reports a story about vandalism at a church or ministry, we as believers shake our heads in disbelief. It’s hard for us to bear the thought of anyone spray-painting graffiti on sanctuary walls or damaging the stained glass windows, let alone setting fire to a place of worship. It’s a desecration!!! The churches and ministries are sacred placesNot long ago I noticed a fresh tattoo on one of my children.
Even though I have taught them about not engraving or carving their bodies. They still continue to defy what I have taught them and lean on their own understanding. It is sad because the fact is that there are so many Christians who don’t have the same reservations about destroying the church or ministry when it comes to harming the temple of the Holy Spirit “their own bodies.” There are many like my children that insist on getting tattoos, some put junk into their stomachs, their veins, or their lungs. Others wear themselves down under a weight of stress or exhaustion.
And it’s even sadder because many of these “CHRISTIANS” justify these abuses as their right by saying: It’s my body, I can do what I want.
BUT THAT ISN’T TRUE!!!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.Beloved as believers (Christians) we are the Lord’s possession. He has created our earthen vessels to serve Him and carry out the work He’s planned for us to accomplish. God created us with a mind, body, and spirit—of the three aspects, the body is the one that allows us to interact with our environment. People cannot reach their full potential while neglecting the proper care of their bodies. What good are education, talent, and gifts if we’re carved up, too tired or sick to complete tasks well?
Here in the world, we can do nothing apart from our physical body. Since it’s the only one we’ll have in this life, we should do our best to keep it in good condition.
James 4:17 (NLT)
Remember, it is a sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.2 Peter 2:21 (NLT)
It would be better if they had never known the way of righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.In other words, it’s better not to know than to know.
NOW YOU KNOW!!! There is no excuse.“To God Be the Glory!!!”

” God Allows Do Overs”

Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
Happy New Week.Beloved, when God puts a vision in your mind, when He puts a promise on the inside, He deposits within you everything you need to complete that vision. He wouldn’t give you the desire to do something without giving you the ability to fulfill it.
In fact, the scripture tells us that God gives us the desires of our heart. In other words, He puts the desire inside of us and then works with us to bring it to pass.
You know many times, people set out to achieve their visions, but if they face a setback or disappointment, they feel like their time has passed. But let me tell you right now that no matter where you’ve come from, no matter what’s happened in your past, God wants to make you new!!!
He wants to give you a “do over,” in other words a fresh start. So, if you feel like you’ve missed opportunities in your life, if you feel like your time has passed, remember that today is a new day. You are a new person, and God has new opportunities in store for you.

“You Can Become Faultless In God’s Eyes”

Praise the Lord!!!
I hope your day has started
blessed in the Lord.Beloved, allow me to start by asking you a question. What do you need from the Lord today?
Do you need peace, establishment or direction? The Word of God assures us that He will
not withhold anything good from those who do what is right. Now you may be asking, “Bishop Houston, I’m not flawless, how can I have a faultless walk?
WELL I’M GLAD YOU ASKED!!!I have some Good News for you!!! The Good News is when you receive Jesus as your Lord
and Savior, you automatically have a new, faultless walk. Your past is erased in God’s eyes.
And of course, you’re going to make mistakes from time to time, but 1 John 1:9 says,
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.”Beloved, I want you to understand today that God wants to pour His favor and honor on you.
If you feel like there’s anything in your life that you need to be cleansed from, go to the
Father today and confess it to Him.“To God Be the Glory!!!”

“An Uncontaminated Heart”
Psalm 119:9-11
Praise the Lord Everyone!!!You know Beloved,
reaching our full potential begins with an uncontaminated heart. I am speaking of a heart that loves the Lord and desires to obey Him. However, Beloved, each of us was born with a nature twisted away from God.Jeremiah 17:9 describes the heart as deceitful and inclined towards wickedness. So pleasing self is a man and woman’s normal state.
OH, I Thank God For Salvation!!! Salvation changed our hearts and lives. Jesus’ death on the cross paid the penalty for our sin and broke its power over us. By receiving Christ as Savior, we each became a new creation with a heart sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and a mind that strongly desires to know the Father better. We have also received the Spirit’s power to deny our selfish desires and obey God. With uncontaminated hearts, we can begin to realize the proficiencies our loving Lord has given us.

“Take a Break”

Praise the Lord Beloved.
If you’re facing challenges today or feeling overwhelmed by your situations or conditions, perhaps you need to take a break from your environment. You see, what you see on the outside doesn’t match what God has placed on the inside of you. The key to resolving your circumstances is: don’t sit around in self-pity, unhappy or hopeless. Go out and find someplace you can dream and connect with Almighty God. Go somewhere to get a piece of mind (go to a park or go for a drive). Go to a quiet place and just sit back and think about how good God has been to you.Take a break from the environment that seems to be holding you back. Find a place that inspires you,
a place where you can just meditate on His Word and let your faith be elevated.Take a break and get into a good, Bible-based church or ministry where people are going to build you up or listen to a sermon or Christian teaching podcast or audio cast that will encourage you and not tear you down; a place where people or the Word of God is going to challenge you to rise higher and become
all that God has created you to be. I know people who get home from work every night and watch the same depressing TV shows week after week.Beloved, don’t let that be you!!! If you’re going to enlarge your vision, you’ve got to get out of a limited environment. But in order to do that you are going to have to take a break from your environment so you can hear the instructions of the spirit of the Lord is trying to say to you.

“Release the Familiar”
Genesis 19:26
But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
You know, releasing the familiar is tough. Changing careers or colleges or moving to a new city can take an emotional toll on us. It’s even more difficult to leave behind old habits, attitudes and behaviors.
Beloved, Lot’s wife wasn’t able to let go of her home in Sodom, even though God sent angels to warn her family to run for their lives because judgment was coming. In fact, the angels’ warnings included very serious commands as “Don’t look back” and “Don’t stop.”Now, why in the world did this woman choose to stop and look back? Could it be that she loved the life she was leaving too much? Even though Sodom was overfilled with sin and immorality, corruption and sleaze. Apparently the dark and oppressive city was comfortably familiar to Lot’s wife.
Beloved, it’s difficult to leave the familiar behind. That fact is as true today as it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah’s destruction even when God himself is saying, “It’s time to move on.” If you’ve ever struggled with a destructive habit, you’ve felt the pull of the familiar, even as you’ve sensed God’s elbow in your side telling you to, “Move on now.” You’ve experienced the temptation to turn back just one more time, for one last look, one last taste, one last “fix” even as God has whispered, “Don’t look back.” Maybe you’ve agonized over a loved one’s downward spiral, desperately attempting to rescue them time and time again until finally God impressed upon you, “Stop. Let go.”
Unlike Lot’s wife, none of us has ever become a pillar of salt by turning back for one last glimpse. Yet we all struggle with the difficulties of releasing the old in order to grasp the new. I want you to take heart.Beloved, God understands that releasing the familiar is hard. Yet God has called us to move on to new a life in Jesus Christ by releasing our old worldly lives, our old habits, our old dreams to boldly move forward without looking back.
