Praise the Lord Everyone! What a joy to wake up and have another opportunity to serve God according to His purpose for my life.
You know Beloved, the Church must become more than an audience to restoration; we must become a community in which wounded people can rise without being permanently identified by where they fell.
Everybody’s got a highlight reel of somebody else’s worst day.
We know the mugshot. We know the video. We know the man on the side of the road. The world archived his collapse and called it content. And then it moved on — because the fall is easy to watch. The fall requires nothing from you.
But nobody’s filming the fight to get back up.
Nobody puts a camera on day four hundred of somebody choosing not to pick it back up again. Nobody trends the morning a man wakes up and says not today to the thing that had him. That’s not entertainment. That’s warfare. And warfare doesn’t photograph well.
Here’s what Scripture says about it, and it will not be comfortable: Proverbs 24:16 (ESV) says: “For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.” The Hebrew word for “rises again” in in this verse is קוּם — qûm, meaning to arise, stand up, or become established.
Read Proverbs 24:16 again. It doesn’t say the righteous “don’t” fall. It says “they fall” — SEVEN TIMES. The distinguishing mark of a righteous man and woman is not that they never hit the ground. It’s that the ground never got the last word.

We built a whole church culture on pretending otherwise. We celebrate the testimony after the man is cleaned up, employed, and presentable. We don’t want the version of him that’s still shaking. But God has never been squeamish about the process. Peter denied Him at the fire and still got breakfast on the beach. “David arranged a man’s death to conceal his own sin, yet God confronted, disciplined, and restored him,” and still wrote the psalm we sing when we’re desperate. The Bible is not a book of people who never fell. It’s a record of people God refused to leave on the ground.
So, when you see a man in recovery — a man on day one, or day one thousand, or day one “again” because relapse restarted the count” — understand what you’re looking at. “You’re witnessing restoration in progress—the slow evidence that the grave doesn’t own everyone it temporarily holds.” And you should have the decency not to talk about him or her like the fall was the whole story.
Micah 7:8 (ESV) says: “Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.” When I fall. Not if. And still — I shall rise.
Somebody reading this is on day one and hasn’t told anybody. Somebody looking at this relapsed last week and thinks the count starting over means the whole thing was fake. It doesn’t. Every day you got was real. Every day you get is real.
Beloved, “God is not keeping a spreadsheet merely to shame you for every restart. He’s calling you to repentance, strengthening you toward freedom, and refusing to abandon His redemptive work in you. Grace doesn’t make relapse harmless—but it does mean relapse doesn’t have to become your permanent address.”
Revelation 21:5 (ESV) says: “And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”
All things. Including the things you’ve already ruined once.Don’t romanticize the fall. Don’t archive it either. Just get up. Then get up again tomorrow.Nobody is beyond redemption. That’s not a slogan. That’s the entire reason the cross exists.
Let Us Go Into The Throne Room Of Grace And Mercy™
Father, we come on behalf of every man and woman fighting a battle nobody’s applauding. For the ones counting days in silence. For the ones who started over this morning and feel like a fraud. Remind them that You are not measuring their worth by their worst day. Give them one more hour of strength, and then another. And to the rest of us — kill the appetite for other people’s collapse. Make us the kind of people who show up for the getting-up. To God be The Glory!
