“The Narrow Channels of Life”

Narrow Channels of Life
CHOF Ministry’s Mid-Week Word

Hebrews 2:1

My wife, (First Lady Donece) owns her on travel agency (Houston’s Travels) and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel with her on several cruise ship inspections. Recently, we were out on an inspection and I had the opportunity to watch the cruise ship’s captain guide his ship through this narrow channel. I watched each crew member as they intensely focus on their task, because if there is any drifting there could be a major disaster.

You know Beloved, life is filled with narrow channels to navigate. One of the best ways to get through the narrow channels of our life is through fellowshipping with brothers and sisters who are in Christ in other words, spiritually like-minded, not wishy washy. You see, it’s through fellowship we’re provided an opportunity to receive the Lord’s anchor of support and accountability. Beloved, refusing to fellowship with a Christian brother or sister in order to pursue other interests usually indicate a believer has began to drift away from God. Less apparent are the men and women who “MENTALLY” refuse to fellowship. In other words, have a made-up mind saying to themselves “I got enough Jesus in me to skip service, to skip fellowship” – to do other things.

Beloved, let me tell you right here, the act of attending “MEANS NOTHING” unless we make a deliberate decision to receive God’s Word and apply it to our life. As the writer of Hebrews (2:1) warned, if we don’t pay attention to what we’ve heard we will drift away from it.  Many people feel that Sunday Morning is the only time to nourish their hearts and mind with the principles and encouragement from the Bible. Well it’s not. We should be in its pages every day, reading and meditating. For ourselves.

Beloved, we cannot afford to drift away from God and His Word. Only He can bring us safe through the narrow channels of live.

Have a blessed Wednesday Everyone!!!
