  • “Stop Freezing People In Time”

STOP FREEZING PEOPLE IN TIME GalatiansYou know Beloved, I’ve been saved for many years now and many people still brutally attack me for past errors, immoral conduct, or wrong pathways I’ve taken. I’m sure there are many of you (like myself) that are being mistreated (abused, neglected, victimized) for what occurred years and or even DECADES ago.

You (like myself) have repented, received salvation, and are living a morally good life and doing well, but there’s still some people that won’t let go of your yester-year(s). Instead of reconciliation, all they tend to remember is mistakes people make, never trying to grant them the opportunity to change. And you know what’s more thought-provoking is many of the people that’s casting insults have been in some sort of immoral actions or still in dishonest trades and law-breaking activity. And it’s sad but true, many of the attackers go to church Every Sunday morning or at their spiritual edifice every time the doors are opened, and many are in our family!!! Beloved, I stopped by this morning to give you some REAL TALK!!!

WE NEED TO STOP FREEZING PEOPLE IN TIME.
You know, there are so many instances in Peter’s life when God could have “frozen” him in time. But He never did. Peter, the impulsive disciple never really thought things out. In Matthew 16:21-23 he “corrected” Jesus, earning him a sharp rebuke from the Lord. In John 18:15-27, He famously denied Christ but in John 21: 15-19 he was restored. And in Galatians 2:11-12 he once contributed to racial divisions within the church. The issue arose when Peter (known also as Cephas) had separated himself from the Gentiles. He had just started to freely associate with them. But some Jews arrived who insisted that circumcision was required for believers in Christ, so Peter began avoiding the uncircumcised Gentiles. This marked a dangerous return to the law of Moses. In verse 13 Paul called Peter’s behavior “hypocrisy”. But because of Paul’s bold confrontation, the issue was resolved, and Peter went on to serve God in the beautiful spirit of unity He intends for us.

Beloved, no one needs to remain frozen in their worst moments. In God’s grace we can embrace each other, learn from each other, confront each other when it’s necessary, and grow together in His love.

    Let us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, at this time I come asking You to draw us close to You today, so that we may also be closer to each other. Protect Your church’s unity. Give us understanding where there’s distrust. Heal us where we’re divided.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name I Pray,
    Amen and Amen.
  • “Robbing God”

    Fortifide stand
Beloved, Malachi 3:8 starts out with a very serious question: “Will a man rob God?” There are many ways God is robbed. Isn’t even thinking about robbing God a scary thought? Well, people rob God all the time. People are being struck down instantly by an angel of the Lord when they don’t give glory to God!!! Many people are dying instantaneously every day for replacing God’s brilliant magnificence with their pride. No one is exempted, NOT royal family, prime ministers, NOR presidents. Beloved, pride is a very serious sin which causes anyone to believe they alone deserve all the credit, robbing the glory from God.

You know, when I read the book of acts, I compare every story or situation with today’s society. Over the years, we’ve come across people with egotistical claims like “I’m the best”, or “I’m the G.O.A.T”. They never acknowledge the One who had given them their gifts and talents. The word is always in reference to “I”. Just like in the enemy in Isaiah 14:12-14 who declared the infamous five “I will’s” of pride. He was cast down from heaven. If this was to occur today to what happened to Herod, it would be terrifying to the snooty, arrogant, self-important, conceited people. So, never test the Lord’s patience and always stay humble. Give God all the glory, honor and praise always because it belongs to Him, and in due season “HE WILL” exalt you – “He’ll open for you the windows of heaven and pour out just for you so many blessing you’ll run out of room to store them.

“To God Be The Glory. Have a blessed Sunday Everyone.” 😀
  • “THERE IS SO MUCH IMMORALITY IN THE WORLD – WHY?”

THERE IS SO MUCH IMMORALITY IN THE WORLD web title picture

    Here Is Today’s Question

    Glogus Utilly asked:

Bishop Houston, our world is filled with so much violence and many crooked people. I want to believe God exist, but it is hard for me to be a believer when there is so much immoral behavior and twisted minds. Can you explain to me why is God letting this happen if He exist?
    (Glogus Utilly)

Thank you for your question Glogus Utilly.

    Answer:

You know, this is a tough and awkward question that I’m sure many people are wanting an answer for. Well, the most unpretentious way to look at this question is to inspect God’s nature and His desire for the creative human.

So, let’s look at God’s reason.
God loves us and wants us to love Him back. So, how could we love Him back unless we have the liberty to not love?

Sure, God could have created us to be like machines who don’t do anything but say, “I love you. I love you. I love you.” But that would be forceful and not real love or in other the words the love God has created.

    Mechanicle heart

    Love is an action word

Glogus love is an action word so that makes love a choice. So, if you have a choice you must be able to choose not to love and that in itself is the nature of immoral behavior and twisted minds. You see, a malicious mind chooses not to love. So, when God gave us the freedom to choose, He gave us not only our greatest blessing, but He also gave us our greatest curse because we can choose to do right or choose to do wrong.

So, the reason there’s so much unrest, immorality and many twisted minds in the world isn’t because of God, but because God gave us the freedom to choose.

Now the possibility for love outweighs the existence of depravity because unrest, immorality, and twisted minds will only exist for a short time, but love is going to go on forever. All of the misery, sadness, and death that we see in the world today are a result that man/women have selected by making wrong choices.

    bad character choices
Glogus, God could have taken our freedom, but He didn’t. I hope you’ll use your freedom to become a believer and choose God.

Thank you for your question Glogus Utilly.

  • MAIL CALL!!! – “Why Would God Need To Choose “A” People?”

    26952152_1736988669692554_1022722054857356071_o

    R. Charles ask:
Bishop Houston, God chose the Jewish people to work out his salvation through them. Why would God need to choose “A” people? Isn’t our God big enough to choose all people? And wouldn’t’ that make more sense?

Thank you for your question R. Charles.

A: In the beginning God did choose all people, until Adam and Eve disobeyed.  And it was the Jewish people that got the end of God’s anger. That’s because they started to believe, trust and have confidence in their own ways. In other words, they abandoned God which took them out of the covenant of God.
So, He had to wipe out the children of the fallen angels (Noah & the Flood).

But, when Jesus came to this earth He brought change. He reached out to everyone Jew, Gentile, Muslim, man, woman. With Jesus there was a new covenant, everyone could go to the presence of God without fear or trepidation.

Beloved, God wants all of us, but all of us don’t want God. All of us would have been included had all of us been righteous.

    Thanks again for your question.

  • “Don’t Ignore Your Spiritual Security Warning System”

    Psalm 121:7, NIV
The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life.

    Breaking Bread with Bishop Houston
    Praise the Lord Beloved!!! 😀
Beloved, allow me to ask you a question. Have you ever had a feeling inside you that tell you that something just isn’t right or something you shouldn’t do? Well if you have then, as soon as you feel that uneasiness, you need to stop and evaluate what’s going on.

Because, that’s your spiritual security warning system sounding-off telling you there’s a problem that either needs to be considered more, or evacuated from.

You know, there are too many times, many people override that feeling, thinking they’ll figure it out later, but then they have to deal with things that God could have saved them from.  Beloved, the time to respond is the time when you sense your spiritual security warning system sounding-off. You might be in the middle of a conversation and your spiritual security warning system goes off. The proper thing to do is walk away. DON’T IGNORE IT!!!” Or, if you’re about to purchase something or you’re about to make some plans and you feel that sense of apprehension.  You know, that awkward feeling. Beloved, that’s your spiritual warning system cautioning you that something is just not right.

Beloved, that’s not a random warning. That’s God talking to you.  So, the proper thing to do is, get out of “YOUR “feelings and emotions and pull back and see what God is saying.

We all must learn to listen to our spiritual security warning system. If we’ll learn to listen, God can keep us from trouble. He can keep us from danger. So, don’t ignore it and make life more difficult!!! Instead, quickly obey. Follow His leading. Don’t override or ignore the warnings so you can partake of the blessing, favor and protection that God has prepared for you.

    To God Be the Glory!!!

  • “God’s Favor Is Always Around You 24/7”

    CHOF Ministry’s Scripture for Today:
    Psalm 33:22 (NLT)
22 Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.

    Praise the Lord Beloved!!!

Beloved, how would your life look if you were surrounded, all day and every day, by God’s favor? Just think how different the things would be if the doors opened for you and you walked through each one covered with God’s favor. Would your daily activities and attitudes in every condition be any different, if you knew beyond any doubt, that success lies ahead just because you’re one of God’s favorites? Would you find the courage to lay down your apprehensions and uncertainties?

    OF COURSE, YOU WOULD!!!
I have some Good News for you today Beloved!!!!
Believe it or not, you already have God’s favor each and every day.

You know Beloved, many Christians believe they must somehow earn the favor of God, but the truth is, we already have His favor. God saved us because of His favor toward us.

In Ephesians 2:8 it tells us: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God”.

What the verse above is literally saying is, grace is favor.

Beloved, God’s favor is the power that changes things for us. You see, first and foremost, you and I are saved by His favor, and I’m not just talking about going to heaven when we die. To be saved means to be delivered, protected, preserved, healed and made whole. This process happens before we die.

God’s favor covers every area of our lives!!! By His favor, He has taken care of everything we will ever need “spirit, soul, and body”. His supernatural grace is so massive, the Bible says it’s going to take all the ages to come for Him to show us all the riches of His grace in the kindness He’s given us in Christ Jesus.

Now, there maybe someone reading this and saying:
Bishop Houston, I can’t wait until I get to heaven so that I can experience the fullness of God’s favor!!!

And you know, you’re right!!! Beloved, you don’t have to wait!!! God is pouring out His favor on us right here and now. Even before we were born again, He was giving us His favor. While we were still rebelling against Him, Romans 5:8 says: “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners”.

Beloved, it was God’s grace at work in your life that enabled you to be born again. From the moment, you stepped into that new life, the moment you made Jesus Lord, God’s favor began working nonstop on your behalf.

You see, being born again was just the starting place for His favor to pour out. And He’ll pour out grace and more favor to you every moment of your life if you’ll receive it!!!

Psalm 5:12 says, “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor, You will surround him as with a shield”. Now, that scripture is talking about the born-again child of God who serves Him. (Not the SOMETIMIE” Christian)!!! Beloved, it’s talking about you, “The 24/7 I’M GOING TO BE OBEDIENT, SERVE YOU REGARDLESS OF WHAT TILL I DIE CHRISTIAN!!!

Beloved, it is Jesus who made you righteous. When Jesus shed His blood, He made righteousness available to all mankind, and with it came the favor of God!!! God’s favor surrounds you constantly!!! You have been born again into His righteousness.

Beloved, we should always see ourselves wrapped in God’s favor 24 hours a day. Every morning when you get up, throw off the covers and jump out of bed saying, “I am righteous. Lord, Your favor surrounds me like a shield.”

    Have a Blessed Day Everyone!!!

Tis the season to be joyous.

But for many people it will be an unhappy experience
because of mess or messy people.
