“Are You Dead Yet?”

*Colossians 3:3
“For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Our Bible verse this morning tells us we have died. This morning’s verse is a significant and mysterious assertion. None of us wants to be considered dead. But Apostle Paul says we’re dead. Some of you may be saying: “Bishop Houston, I’m not dead!!!

And of course, you’re not according to the carnal sense. But as firm believers in our faith, we should feel that our real life is someplace else. Not here in this valley that’s filled with mortality and immorality.

You know, I battle daily while I’m waiting for my real life to get here. It’s going to be a joy to finally lay to rest my immoral self with all its flaws and vulnerabilities and grab hold of that assured new life, a life where there’s no more crying, no more discomfort, and no more disappointments. I’m excited about the news filled with emancipation, happiness, loyalty, genuine friendship, coherence, and tranquility. It’s going to be a perpetual life, a life that’s hidden with Christ in God.

Beloved, when we receive that lifetime award, it signifies all that’s immoral and malevolent in us has expired and cease to exist. They become extinct by the energy of Christ. By following Christ and staying connected to Him, we’re working toward an infinite life until it becomes our own.

Let us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for providing us with the magnificent gift of everlasting life. Help us always keep our minds and feelings on You and do what’s appropriate as we work toward spending eternity with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen and Amen.

Have a Blessed Tuesday, Everyone.
