In the Book of Numbers 5:5-7 it reads, “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: ‘Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the Lord is guilty and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done…”
Beloved, have you ever wronged someone? I mean, “REALLY” wronged someone to the place where you actually took something from them and claimed it as your own. Maybe it was corporal control. Perhaps it was a word spoken which badmouthed their character and hurt their reputation. Wronging someone for any reason is unacceptable behavior for one of God’s children. Remember, just because you’re traveling in the same fellowship of the King of Kings, doesn’t mean you’re insulated from damaging another of His children.
So, when you’re guilty, confess it. Beloved, before you can correct it with others, you have to first admit, “I BLEW IT. I’m the one responsible. I did wrong.” Though we may know that within, because the Holy Spirit brought conviction of sin to our hearts, confessing it is another thing altogether. Nevertheless, it’s important for us to verbalize our wrong behavior to the one we hurt. If you ever want to be fresh and clean, especially in your conscience, “OWN IT!!!”
Once you “own it,” take steps to correct it. It might involve money, or it might be taking back a statement you said to another person. Whatever you have done to harm another, fix it. Don’t wait another moment. Don’t waste another night’s sleep. Get correct and get correct today. God wants His children to leave with open hands and hearts, with no balances left unpaid. Refusing to think about it or deal with it, only hardens your heart and desensitizes your spirit to the things of the Kingdom. All the Bible reading, service and prayer will not cover it up or make the issue go away.
Wait no longer – time is running out and for many it’s running out fast!!!
