Praise the Lord Beloved. Happy Sunday.
our morning verse is Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT), and it reads this way:
(1) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. (2) We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Beloved, I want to speak briefly to you about chastising the flesh. when I say chastise I’m actually speaking of discipling. You know, for many Christians the word chastise stimulates memories of frustration for some and failure for others. Every one of us that are Bible believers knows it’s imperative to keep our flesh under control. We know that the Word of God clearly teaches this. Beloved, we must be overbearing when it comes to keeping our flesh in check.
Now, there maybe someone reading this thought-provoking word that is just not sure exactly how to do this, maybe someone reading this thought-provoking word may want to give up, maybe someone reading this thought-provoking word will want to ignore this because they believe such discipline is impossible, and maybe someone reading this thought-provoking word is still fighting stubbornly to get their flesh under control but continue to lose one encounter after another.
Well Beloved this morning I want you to know that it doesn’t have to be that way!!! 😀 In fact, we can’t afford to let it be that way!!! 😀 It will cost us too much.
Beloved, you and I are blessed to be part of the generation that will see the signs and wonders which the prophets of old wished they could have lived long enough to see. We’ll witness the Spirit of God poured out upon “ALL” flesh. But sin hinders the Spirit’s flow. And only as we purge ourselves of it will the power and glory of God be manifest through us. Only then will we experience the glorious things that are prophesied to take place in our generation.
So, put your past failure behind you. 😀 Make up your mind that you’re not going to let the sins of the flesh rob you of the glory of God. It’s possible to step out of the sin you’ve struggled with for so long and live under the Spirit’s control.
Beloved, look to Jesus!!! 😀 He’ll show you how. He’ll provide you with the overflow to control the flesh.
Have a blessed Sunday Everyone.
