“Did You Hear God Calling?”

Walk with me Lord Did You Hear God Calling You

Walk with Me Lord Morning Focal Scripture:
1 Samuel 3:2-18

Praise the Lord Beloved. Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Fathers.

In our morning “Walk with Me Lord” scripture, we see a young child by the name of Samuel who lives in the temple with his tutor, Eli the priest. One night, after hearing his name called, Samuel ran to ask Eli what he wanted. But the priest hadn’t said a word, so he sent the child back to bed. This happened two more times before Eli realized that the Lord was the one calling the boy. Then he instructed Samuel to respond by asking the Lord what He wanted to say.

Beloved, almighty God still speaks to us today. Let me give you an example: when we’re called to salvation we’ll start hearing Him. Have you ever been sitting around, or maybe you were involved in something and you hear someone call your name or you thought someone said something to you? That’s the Holy Spirit trying to get our attention. The Holy Spirit makes us aware that something is missing in our life or He’s trying to get our attention to point us to Jesus Christ as the answer.

Without the Savior, we’re misplaced and desperate. Everyone is born with a corrupt nature that’s bent away from God. The Father, who’s holy and perfect, requires holiness in His presence. Therefore Beloved, the penalty for sin is death. I’m speaking of eternal separation from Him. But God loves us, so to correct that situation, Jesus came to earth, lived the perfect life, and died as a substitute for mankind. He took the penalty for our sin.

Beloved, salvation is our greatest gift. To receive it, all we have to do is trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Then, He stands with us and continues to speak, gently supervising and inspiring us toward righteousness.

Beloved, have you recognized the heavenly Father speaking to you? If so, don’t delay!!! Ask Him to forgive your sin. Then accept Christ’s exchanged sacrifice on your behalf and choose to follow Him. Share your decision with another Christian or even your pastor so that you can have direction on this beautiful new journey.

Have a blessed Sunday.
