    The LORD kept dispatching the prophets with admonitions because He had compassion for His people. Judgment would come, but their receptiveness to the word of God would have made an enormous difference in their transition to captivity. But because they were so hard-hearted—had no feelings, insulting, hating and making fun of prophets, the defeat by Babylon was very brutal. Young and old were murdered, and everything of value was taken and they burned the Temple.

    Beloved, the harder we make our hearts – the more we refuse to listen, the more we reject or ignore those sent to deliver a moral word, the more devastating the circumstances must be to wake us up and turn us around. They had faced embarrassing defeats during the reign of the last four kings, but none of those defeats caused them to humble themselves before God and turn to Him. There was no cure. God looked for another way, but there was none. You know, often people will ask how God could have allowed a disaster to happen. Well, in many cases, it’s because there was no other solution. Many times, there’s no less alternative that will turn people from the hardness of their hearts or being “hard-headed.”

    Beloved, Israel had ignored the law of Sabbath rest for many centuries. Every seventh year they were not supposed to plant, but just let what came up on its own be sufficient for them. If they had ignored this law for 490 years, then the land was due for 70 years of Sabbath rests. That’s exactly what happened. The land had its rest, and the people received their embarrassment. They stopped being hard-headed and changed their hearts. Those who returned were unwilling to accept idol worship and possess a fear of disobeying God. Their spiritual observance moves into the period of restoration. The people were allowed to return and build the temple again. God would prepare them for a great redemption – the coming of the Messiah.

    Beloved, continuous rebellion and mockery against the allowed personnel of God will get you a visit from an angry God along with all your infractions well documented, including the major penalty for each one.

    Let Us Pray:
    Dear Heavenly Father, help us turn to You before it’s too late. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Aaamen.

    Beloved life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind may enter our room and blow out our earthly light. So today, reach out and touch someone you love and tell them you love them, BECAUSE TELLING THEM LATER JUST MIGHT BE – TOO LATE. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

  • “If It Wasn’t for Noah”

    If It Wasn't For Noah

    Beloved, one of the dirtiest, most detrimental lies that the devil ever told you was when he said, “You aren’t important.” Beloved, don’t you ever believe that!!! You’re important!!! Every born-again member who believes in Jesus Christ has a part to play in God’s plan. God has something for you to do that no one else can do just like you can. If you don’t take your place and do your part, things won’t be quite right. Now, I can just hear you thinking, “Bishop Houston, I’m just one person. What could I conceivably do that could be so noteworthy? “WELL I’M GLAD YOU ASKED? 😀

    You’ll see the answer to that question in Genesis 6. There you’ll see that the people on the earth had gotten so evil and corrupt that God had regretted that He’d made them. He was ready to wipe the whole population out, “But He Didn’t”!!! Why? Because of one man: Noah!!! 😀 One obedient man saved the human race. Think about that. What if Noah had said, “Well, this is just too much pressure for me. I can’t live upright before God in the middle of this unreasonable generation. I mean, everyone around me is living the other way. Every man around me imagines only evil in his/her mind and emotions. I can’t make any difference in this dark world anyway. I’m just one man.”

    Praise the Lord Noah didn’t say that!!! He didn’t picture himself as an unimportant man whose life didn’t matter. According to Hebrews, he saw himself as a man to whom God had spoken and by faith, he obeyed God. And because of that he ended up being the only thing that stood between mankind and total destruction.

    Beloved, the next time you’re tempted to ignore the instructions of God and be disobedient, the next time you catch yourself thinking, it doesn’t matter what I do — just remember Noah. 😀 Consider the fact that, whether you understand it or not, God’s counting on you to carry out your part of His plan. Live like you’re someone important in the kingdom of God. And sooner or later you’ll realize, you are.
    Amen? – AAAmen… 😀

    Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father thank You for believing, trusting and having confidence in me when so many don’t or have doubts about who I am today. Thank You for trusting me with Your spiritual commands and blessing me with the required gifts to achieve my spiritual duty. I’ll continue to stay focus on You and be obedient to Your directives regardless if I understand them or not.
    In Jesus’ Name I pray Amen and Amen.

    *1 Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). *2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.

    Beloved, it’s very important as a Believer we always stay in constant contact with God not just today but daily.
    As Supporters or Advocates of Christ Jesus it’s equally as important to stay tuned to His voice. You may have a plan for today, but God may lead you in a totally different direction if you’re allowing the Holy Spirit to penetrate your mind and emotions. Also be brave enough to flow with what “you” feel in “your” heart (mind and emotions) that God wants “you” to do.
    Beloved today’s going to be a great Sunday. Listen for the voice of God to lead you. Be strong minded to walk in the Spirit and stay in the movement of God’s direction for you today.

    This morning I will observe this morning’s CHOF Bible Fellowship Teaching: “Be Hesitant to Criticize Others”

    In today’s CHOF Bible Fellowship Sunday morning Bible  teaching we saw our Lord’s disapproval of a hypercritical or judgmental attitude. You know Beloved, it’s extraordinary how we can have a perfectionistic attitude toward others yet ignore the glaring faults we possess.

    The Pharisees of Jesus day were sarcastic in their attack on the sins of others while superficially unaware of their own faults. In seeing the pretense of these hypocrites, Jesus gave a series of rebukes one of them was in Matthew 23:25-26 Jesus Said: “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean”.

    Beloved, the Greek word hypocrite means “he that wears the mask”. Mask were used by actors in plays. The private lives of hypocrites don’t match the image they project for public view. Beloved, the Christian walk should lead to greater integrity and transparency. To avoid hypocrisy, it’s essential that we confess our sin and rely on the Spirit to help us live holy lives. Galatians 5:16 says: “But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts].”
    Ephesians 5:18: Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.)” And 1 John 1:9 says: “If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].”

    Romans 3:23 uncovers every one of us. We all fall short of the graciousness of God. That’s right, we all have said something dumb or stupid about someone, then find ourselves hypocritically doing or saying the same thing.

    Beloved, we all can be more gracious to others.

  • “HE”

    Praise the Lord Everyone. Happy Sunday Morning to you all. 😀

    This morning Beloved, I want us to look at a Paul’s letter to the believers at Ephesus.

    Ephesians 4:10-11 (NLT) reads: 10 And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself. 11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: ….and the pastors and teachers.

    Now I want you to focus on the word “HE”. The “He” here is of course Jesus. This portion of Scripture tells us that “HE” has “descended” and that “HE” has “ascended.”

    Now, without getting into the specifics of the words “descended” and “ascended,” let me just say right here, that this is speaking about Jesus’ coming and His going.

     “HE” came to carry out the work that was necessary to pay the price for the penalty that was due (because of our sin), to die and give His life a ransom for the lost. He also came to reveal the Father (God) to us. And then, with His work being completed, He rose up from the grave, and all that “HE” had taught and all that “He” had done was confirmed, the stamp of approval placed upon who “HE” is and what “HE” had done.

     “He” told us in John chapters 14-16 that it was essential for Him to go, then “He” would send the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of truth,” and the Spirit would dwell in the mind and emotions in those who believed on Him. And once the Holy Spirit becomes comfortable enough to make His home in the mind and the emotions of the believers., He authorize the believers to be eyewitnesses for Him.

    Now, that the Holy Spirit is residing in the minds and emotions of the believers, they are sanctioned to serve Him according to their authorized position. Some of those who were saved by the Lord, “HE” authorized them to be Lord “pastors and teachers.”

    Now, the problem that many believers have is, once they’re given a position by the Lord, all too often they think or make it to be something it really isn’t. Believers must guard against becoming arrogant and conceited. The “pastor” and “teacher” must stay in line with God’s assignment and produce what he or she is supposed to do and do it as the Master has designed.

    Now, hears a little word association here: coming from the Strong’s Concordance the word “pastor” is a “shepherd” and the word “teacher” is an “instructor”. This man or woman of God is to be “a shepherd” or an “instructor” to the flock of Christ, the body of Christ, the church. The Holy Spirit filled believer is given this position by Christ “for the equipping of the saints and for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).

    This is what the “pastors and teachers” are to be about. It’s a very responsible position and one that, in this day of display, ceremony and the great desire to be entertained, must be kept within a proper biblical perspective.
