  • “A Solid Foundation Matters”

CHOF Ministry Expressions for Today Bishop Houston 2 26 2019
Luke 6:48 (AMP) – (48) he is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock.

Last weekend an investment partner called me to come to a location in East Cleveland to look at a property we invested in several months ago. We knew after looking around and surveying, it was going to need some work especially in a room that was added. I could tell, the room was sinking. There were cracks in the walls and one of the windows wouldn’t open. The seller told us that the room was added several years ago. We walk outside and look around the house and we could see that the room was added without a foundation. And right away we knew that correcting the sloppy work would mean months of work to lay a new foundation.

After I arrived, I went straight to the room that needed work. I couldn’t see much difference. The cracks were gone and now the window opened. I was cool with that, because I understood that a solid foundation was what matters.

Beloved, this is true in our lives as well. In Luke 6:46-49 Jesus shared a parable about wise and foolish builders to illustrate the foolishness of not listening to Him. Those who hear and obey His words are like the person who builds a house on a firm foundation, unlike those who hear but ignore His words. Jesus assured His listeners that when the storms come, their house would stand. Their faith would not be shaken.

We can find peace knowing that as we listen to and obey Jesus, He forms a strong foundation for our lives. We can strengthen our love for Him through reading the Bible, praying, and learning from other Christians. Then when we face the fast-moving water of rain pounding against us, whether it’s betrayal, pain, or disappointment, we can trust that our foundation is solid.

Beloved, our Savior will provide the support we need.

Have a Blessed Tuesday Everyone. 😀
  • “I’m On the Battlefield for My Lord”

New Monday Morning Blog 2 Timothy 21 through 4

Praise the Lord Beloved!!! What a joy to be able to celebrate with you the pronounced eve of Jesus’ birth. As we enter the heart of the holiday season let us all remember the great men and women that are away from their families serving our country far and wide during this holiday season. They are our heroes.

This morning I read a passage from Paul’s letter to Timothy. And in the passage (2 Timothy 2:1-4), the Apostle Paul encourages the young Timothy (and his inspiration is passed on to every believer today), to face difficulty as a good soldier. Now, the military term “soldier” implies that we’re in a battle. And in fact, the combat started before Adam and Eve’s lifetime.

Beloved, almighty God created all the celestial beings and it was He that allowed Satan and other angels (subsequently became known as “demons”) to rebel (mutiny) against Him. They established their own kingdom and waged war with the Lord. And as we see today this conflict has been extended to all humankind. It was in the Garden of Eden, Satan tempted Eve to violate God’s command by eating forbidden fruit. Her disobedience corrupted mankind’s innocence, and ever since, all human beings have been born with a nature bent away from the Lord and with a profound need for a Savior.

Jesus, tempted by Satan in the wilderness, exhibited for us an awesome demonstration how to be victorious in spiritual conflict “by means of Scripture”.  You see, God’s Word gives us everything we need to win, from offensive and defensive weapons “Eph. 6:10-17” to the proper perspective on our adversaries’ real identity…” Verse 12 “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the . . . spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Beloved, when we see ungodliness in our society, the Enemy may at times seem to be winning. Yet we who are saved have a guaranteed oath that we belong to Him who is greater, and who’ll have the final victory “1 John 4:4; John 16:33”.
Beloved, as we go through this Holiday week, for some people, there’ll be battles. Let us all view our daily battles biblically and look to God, who is mightier than all evil.

Have a blessed Monday and a splendid Holiday week Everyone.

  • “DO YOUR PART”

    32760127_10211366375851333_7646169761256046592_n
Praise the Lord Beloved!!! 😀 It is Friday, and I’m happy that we are counted in today’s number to continue to be obedient to God and spread the Words of Jesus Christ. If you are feeling blessed right now shout out if you can or say quietly if you’re in a place you can’t shout out HALLELUJAH!!! THANK YOU, SAVIOR, FOR THIS DAY!!!
You know Beloved, I’ve met people who know that the Lord has called them to do something, but they are so focused on their perceived lack of ability that they keep telling Him, “I’m not at that point, or I can’t.” Beloved, I’m not sure if you realize it, but that is a form of rebellion. It’s almost like telling God that He isn’t powerful enough to equip you, and that His will being done on this earth depends upon your natural skills. Beloved, the Lord is the one who gives us the ability to live within His will. IT’S A DIVINE POWER!!! You see, if we believe Him and move forward “in obedience,” He’ll show us what we’re to do and energize us to get it done. Philippians 2:13 says that God Himself “is a work in you both to will and work for His good pleasure.” So Beloved, there is nothing to fear!!! 😀 You never have to take on His work in your own strength ‘AND” He won’t ask you to do anything that He will not enable you to carry out.

So this weekend Beloved, as a follower of Christ remember, you have a personal responsibility, first, to say yes when God calls and second, to allow Him to achieve His purposes through your life. He won’t let you down, so do your part and don’t let Him down.

    Have Blessed Weekend Everyone. 😀

  • Concentration That Brings Confidence

    1st Timothy 6:9

    Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
    Happy Friday to everyone.

Well the weekend is upon us once again and you know,
weekends seem to be the days that many choices must made. You know non-Christians live with a false sense of security. They assume that what is important in this life is the physical and material. But there is no safety in things. Those whose drive (determination) is affluence and fitness rather than God find that their visions or desire either go unfulfilled or leave them frustrated. Christians hook their focus into the solid rock of Jesus Christ. His Words are ALWAYS TRUE and HIS PROMISES ARE NEVER BROKEN.

Beloved, for a Christian, the best choice a Christian can make is to choose to
concentrate on his or her confidence on the Lord Jesus Christ. Beloved, this weekend welcome whatever fits His will for your life, and turn away from all that doesn’t. Circumstances may cause modification, but Jesus never does. So, Beloved, concentrate on Jesus and He’ll help you make the right choices confidently this weekend.

Have a Blessed Weekend Everyone!!! 😀
