  • Best Bible Version

Question: Bishop Houston, I was raised reading the King James Version of the Bible. Today, there are so many different versions. Could you please tell me what Bible Version is best?

    Answer: Great Question.

You’re right. There are many bible translations. Since man’s involvement, the conversion from the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts have lost many forms of uniqueness. There’s no perfect Bible translation. So, the reading you choose to read must be one that incorporates spiritual satisfaction within you. In other words, find a translation that you can comprehend.

First Lady Donece and I own many Bible translations and methods for our study and reference objectives. There are many online sites with Bible versions such as Bible Gateway, Bible Hub, Biblia, and Biblica, to name a few.

First Lady Donece and I regularly use the Amplified Bible, The New Living Translation, The Century Version, and The Message Bible. I recommend that you get into a habit to check word meanings with a Bible concordance and Bible dictionary. I’ve used the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, Young’s Analytical Concordance, Matthew Henry’s Commentary, Scofield, The Thompson Chain and Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words for decades. They’re all excellent exploration tools, especially if you’re more acquainted with the King James Version.

Beloved, I hope my answer has helped you.
    Thank you for your question.

  • “The Prolific Certainty”

    4 20 2020 John 15 4
    Praise The Lord Everyone!!! ✝️❤️😊

The first word in our focal morning passage is “REMAIN.” The verse is understandable and straight forward. There’s no intellectual or hidden meaning. It’s simple; it’s saying “stay connected, embrace, hold on.
Beloved, we’ve been called. We must remain in the vine or to stay connected to the vine in all things, from the most significant issues down to the tiniest matters in life. The passage above reminds us that Jesus is the vine and that for us to bear fruit, we must hold on to (stay connected) to the vine very tightly in our daily lives. We can’t be fruit bearers in this world unless we persistently stay snuggly connected to the authentic prolific fertile substance of Jesus Christ. One of our most vital responsibilities in this world is to bear fruit (be productive), and while we may find it challenging at times, ‘Remaining In Christ’ is the route that leads us into bearing fruit or being industrious for His glory.
Beloved, we must make it our daily responsibility to inspect our linkage to Christ to make sure we’re tightly connected to Him because our life resources flow from Him to us.
    Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊
    Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for operating within me. Help me to remain persistent in You even amid persecutions. Reinforce my faith so that I’ll always stay reminded that You’re capable of completing everything.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Aaamen. ✝️❤️
Let us all remember to wash our hands and continue to stay in compliance with social distancing.
I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have a Splendid Monday and an Efficient Week, Everyone.

  • “I Can Do All Things”

    1 6 2020 Philippians 4 13.png
    Praise the Lord Everyone!!! 😀

In our verse this morning it tells us about Apostle Paul’s testimony to the Philippian believers. The phrase “all things” is a very bold two words. What Apostle Paul means is He can do everything that God wants him to do because Christ will reinforce him. He used the word strengthen because according to the context of this verse, Paul was talking about his day to day needs. So even if his food supply diminished or he’s having a hardship, he’s confident that Christ will reinforce him to do the assignment God commissioned him to do. This is a reminder to us that we shouldn’t let fatigue and pessimism impede our service to God.

Beloved, Jesus Christ will be there to strengthen us not only in times of deprivation but also in times of apathy and disappointment. Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, thank You for constantly being there to reinforce me. During challenging and excruciating positions in my life, You’re always there to pull me up and keep me going. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Amen. ✝️❤️😊

Beloved, life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will enter our earthly room and blow out our candle. So, reach out and touch the ones that need your agape, dissolve the divisions among you, continue to encourage one another, be united in the same mind, the same reasoning and continue to build one another up.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have a wonderful Monday and a wonderful week. ✝️❤️😊

  • “The Obligation of a Cleric”

    12 4 2019 1 Pet 2 5 The Obligations of Clerics
    Praise the Lord Everyone!!! 😀

You know, Christians are assigned similar spiritual attributes as the Old Testament priests. Peter considers believers as holy priests (pastors, minister, elders), but actually there are many Christians who don’t know what that means because priests aren’t as active in our common daily activity in our society today.

The main purpose of an Old Testament priest was to submit appropriate sacrifices to God on behalf of the people. Priests were selected by God Himself, specially cleansed through approved rituals, clothed in a specified fashion, and anointed with oil as symbolic of God’s Spirit upon them. They were expected to obey God, love His Word, and walk with Him.

Beloved, faithful priests had an encouraging influence on believers and unbelievers. Malachi 2:6 (NCV) says: “and they kept many people from sinning.” Verse 7 adds that “A priest should teach what he knows, and people should learn the teachings from him, because he is the messenger of the Lord All-Powerful.”

Those credentials are similar in Christians, whom God considers as the only true priests (pastors, minister, elders). You were chosen by Him from before the foundation of the world – refined, restored, rejuvenated and restarted by the Holy Spirit. Beloved, You’re clothed with the righteousness of Christ and anointed by the Holy Spirit. 1 Pet. 2:5 says: Your purpose is “to offer spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.” Rom. 12:1 informs you to present your body a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. In other words, obedience, love for the Word, and a close relationship with God should characterize your life. Saints and sinners should see Christ in you and be inspired by what they see.

Beloved, the priesthood of believers is a high and holy calling to which no one is suited apart from God’s grace and power, and I assure you that He who called you will accomplish His good pleasure in you. So, I encourage you to stay committed to the goal God has placed before you each day as you lean on His resources and trust in His sufficiency. Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    CHOF Ministry’s Mid-Week Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministry you have assigned to me. Father God, please continue to use me and CHOF/BWFHJr ministry, along with my fellow clergy brothers and sisters and their ministries today as we provide and influence others selflessly according to Your directives. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Amen.

Beloved life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will be permitted to enter our room and blow out our earthly light. So today, reach out and touch someone you love and tell them you love them, BECAUSE TELLING THEM LATER JUST MIGHT BE TOO LATE.

  • “You Have Favor”

    11 25 2019 Psalm 84 11
Praise The Lord Everyone. Happy Monday to you. 😊

Well, Thanksgiving is 3 days away, and it’s an awesome day many of us will deeply reflect and thank God for His countless blessings.

Beloved did you know that you’re blessed with “Favor?” If you didn’t, then I want you to know that favor is a part of your inheritance!!! You don’t have to ask God for it. As a follower and believer in Jesus Christ, you’re in covenant with Him. That means that everything He has is yours!!! 😊 That’s right, “EVERYTHING”.

Now, there may be someone out there asking, “Bishop Houston how do I get my portion of favor?” WELL, I’M GLAD YOU ASKED!!! 😊 The way you get your portion of favor or turn it on, is by thanking Him for it. All you have to say, “Father, thank You for Your favor today. Thank You Your favor that’s helped me generate moral thoughts that are helping me to do the right things and be in the right position at the right time. Thank You that Your favor is causing people to want to be nice to me.”

Beloved, you don’t have to pray about something that you already have, all you have to do is receive it and the way to activate it is by thanking Him.

Before I share a message with you each morning and when I speak each week on the radio, I never say, “God, please give me Your favor. Please give me Your anointing.” No, I keep it simple and say, “God, thank You for Your anointing. Thank You for Your favor in my life. Thank You for providing inspiration, resources, conditions, and energy to me.” See, I know that it’s all part of my inheritance. So, I just behave like it’s true.

So today Beloved, turn on His promises by faith. Praise and thank Him for His compassion and for blessing your life. Accept His Word as truth and allow it to become a part of your routine thought process and before you know it your reactions to how you receive life, each day will change because He has already given His favor and blessing to you!!! Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    Let Us Pray:
“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your favor and blessing in my life. Thank You for cleansing me and making me new. Your Word says that You will withhold no good thing from me because I walk blamelessly before You by the blood of Jesus. I receive it by faith and thank You for Your goodness, In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Amen.” ✝️

Beloved life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind may enter our earthly room and blow out our candle. So today, reach out and touch someone you love and tell them you love them, BECAUSE TELLING THEM LATER JUST MIGHT BE – TOO LATE. • “Being Spiritually Invasive”

    10 9 2019 Eph. 6 17 Being Spiritually Invasive
    Praise the Lord Believers!!! 😀

Beloved, the entire panoply Paul lists in Ephesians 6 is self-protective, except one: “The Sword of The Spirit.” That’s your invasive weapon for defeating Satan.

Now, if you’ve noticed the Roman soldiers always carries two swords: the large broadsword and the small dagger. In verse 17 the Greek word for “sword” refers to the dagger, which was anywhere from six to eighteen inches long and was carried in a sheath or scabbard at the soldier’s side. The dagger was a common weapon. When you have time go back to Matt. 26:47 and you’ll see that the Roman soldiers who arrested Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane were each armed with one. In Matt. 26:51 Peter used one to cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant. In Acts 12:2 it was a dagger that was used to kill James, the brother of John. In Hebrews 11:37 it tells us that this same type of weapon was used against the heroes of the faith.

Now, the Sword of the Spirit” doesn’t always penetrate in a straight position as we would think the Holy Spirit does. Remember this is spiritual warfare. The implications are that since our enemy is spiritual, our weapons also must be spiritual (*1). Our sword is spiritual because it’s the Word given by the Holy Spirit. He inspired its writing and through it convicts and redeems sinners (2).

Beloved, it’s the Word that abides in you and it reconditions and transforms you. It supplies everything you need for a godly, victorious life. It builds you up and produces holiness (*3). And it equips you for good works by teaching, reproving, correcting, and training you in righteousness (*4).

The Bible is an influential, dynamic and effective weapon. The question that stands at hand Beloved is: Do you know how to use it? Do you assiduously study it and apply its ethics to your life? Do you have a mental warehouse of biblical truth to draw from in the heat of battle?

Beloved, the Roman dagger was a precision weapon designed for a precise spot to produce a precise result. Similarly, the sword of the Spirit is most effective when you apply precise biblical ethics to precise situations in your life. Do you do that Beloved? Amen? Aaamen. 😀

    CHOF Ministry’s Mid-Week Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, please continue to increase my desire to know Your Word. Help me to continue to apply the wisdom You’ve blessed me with to make precise decisions for the situations I’ll face today.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Aaamen.

Beloved, life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will be permitted to enter our room and blow out our earthly light. So today, reach out and touch someone and tell them you love them, BECAUSE TELLING THEM LATER JUST MIGHT BE TOO LATE. – I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have a “Happy” Wednesday. 😀

  • “PYMWTWOG”

    9 6 2019 Bishop Houston's Weekend Words PYMWTWOG 2 Corinthians 10 4 5
Praise the Lord Beloved Happy Friday!!!:-D

If you think just like the world thinks, eventually you’ll perform just like the world performs. You see, uncontrolled views, opinions, and feelings manufacture uncontrolled views, opinions, and feelings.

So, supervise your views, opinions, and feelings. You need to transition them into obedience to the Scriptures. In different words,
“PYMWTWOG” – Program Your Mind with the Word of God. The Word is spirit and its life. Once your mind is saturated with the Word of God, you’ll become robust once the time comes for you to exercise authority to beat each ungodly, unsocial, unreasonable thought and evil habit.

Beloved, this weekend, don’t let secularism deceive you into surrendering the glory of God in your life for many moments of pleasure-seeking and sin. Imprison your worldly views, opinions, and feelings concerning life. Meditate on the Word rather than egocentric, carnal thoughts. Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, WHO Is the author and finisher of your spiritual belief. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen and Aaamen. 😀

    Weekend Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reintroducing Your Word to my mind and emotions.  Your Words have blessed me with a brand-new vision. Your Words have restructured the way I process life. My new insight has internally delivered spiritual views, opinions, and feelings that assist me as I pass through the carnal world. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen and Aaamen. 😀

    Have a blessed Weekend Everyone.

  • “LOADING OUR BEST RESOURCES IN HEAVEN”

Bishop Houston's Full Purple Shirt “LOADING OUR BEST RESOURCES IN HEAVEN”
    Focal Scripture: Matthew 6:19-24

Praise the Lord Beloved. Happy Sunday. Let us all be thankful for this day.

This Morning’s Focal Bible Scripture is Matthew 6:19-24

Beloved, we should all be carefully loading our best resources in heaven. We shouldn’t be apprehensive about our physical needs, because they’re only temporal. Instead, we should pursue eternal things. Temporal things don’t last and can decay or pilfered here on earth. On the other hand, eternal things endure and will never be at risk from thieves or deterioration (*1).

While the “heart” characterizes the whole person, the “eyes” signify our ability to distinguish truth (*2). So, if our spiritual eyes are healthy, we’ll be able to see reality and follow the correct path. If not, we’ll be morally and spiritually blind, incapable to see which resources are worth valuing and following.

Beloved, what we value exposes who we are and leads to what we do (*3). And since we can only serve one master, it’s prudent to select God over monetary things. (*4). You see, the idea of “loading our best” resources in heaven shows that following God and valuing His kingdom is a series of choices that build conduct and charisma. Paul compared it to a construction project (*5). Some people use wood, hay, and straw as their building materials, others use gold, silver, and jewels.

Beloved, when the fire of judgment strikes, it will be very clear which one will endure. Amen? – Aaamen. 😀

    Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, once again I thank You for Your valuable Word. Help us to carefully load our best resources in heaven and take our eyes off of the things that are temporal.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen and Aaamen.

Beloved, life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will be permitted to enter our room and blow out our earthly light. So today, reach out and touch someone and tell them you love them,

  • “If It Wasn’t for Noah”

    If It Wasn't For Noah

Beloved, one of the dirtiest, most detrimental lies that the devil ever told you was when he said, “You aren’t important.” Beloved, don’t you ever believe that!!! You’re important!!! Every born-again member who believes in Jesus Christ has a part to play in God’s plan. God has something for you to do that no one else can do just like you can. If you don’t take your place and do your part, things won’t be quite right. Now, I can just hear you thinking, “Bishop Houston, I’m just one person. What could I conceivably do that could be so noteworthy? “WELL I’M GLAD YOU ASKED? 😀

You’ll see the answer to that question in Genesis 6. There you’ll see that the people on the earth had gotten so evil and corrupt that God had regretted that He’d made them. He was ready to wipe the whole population out, “But He Didn’t”!!! Why? Because of one man: Noah!!! 😀 One obedient man saved the human race. Think about that. What if Noah had said, “Well, this is just too much pressure for me. I can’t live upright before God in the middle of this unreasonable generation. I mean, everyone around me is living the other way. Every man around me imagines only evil in his/her mind and emotions. I can’t make any difference in this dark world anyway. I’m just one man.”

Praise the Lord Noah didn’t say that!!! He didn’t picture himself as an unimportant man whose life didn’t matter. According to Hebrews, he saw himself as a man to whom God had spoken and by faith, he obeyed God. And because of that he ended up being the only thing that stood between mankind and total destruction.

Beloved, the next time you’re tempted to ignore the instructions of God and be disobedient, the next time you catch yourself thinking, it doesn’t matter what I do — just remember Noah. 😀 Consider the fact that, whether you understand it or not, God’s counting on you to carry out your part of His plan. Live like you’re someone important in the kingdom of God. And sooner or later you’ll realize, you are.
    Amen? – AAAmen… 😀

Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father thank You for believing, trusting and having confidence in me when so many don’t or have doubts about who I am today. Thank You for trusting me with Your spiritual commands and blessing me with the required gifts to achieve my spiritual duty. I’ll continue to stay focus on You and be obedient to Your directives regardless if I understand them or not.
In Jesus’ Name I pray Amen and Amen.

Beloved, life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will be permitted to enter our room and blow out our earthly light. So today, reach out and touch someone and tell them you love them,

BECAUSE TELLING THEM LATER JUST MIGHT BE – TOO LATE.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!  And Have a Blessed Sunday Everyone. 😀
