  • “It’s Time To Take The Knee Off Our Neck”

Beloved, I watched the entire memorial of George Floyd yesterday and was moved by his Home-going Celebration.

But it’s sad to say in my lifetime, many of are you, my age and older, have seen or been to too many “HOME-GOING CELEBRATIONS because life was tragically snuffed out by a ruthless individual. This morning, I’m using all of my platforms to protest about the knee on our neck.

Beloved, being born in the USA, should give us the necessary rights to live. There shouldn’t be a problem when a black man, a black woman, boy, girl, or minority walk our American streets. Nor be judged because they want to live freely or want to live a better life without someone putting their knee on our neck. America, the land of the free, we should all have an equal opportunity to provide for our families to live a poverty-free lifestyle without a knee on our neck. I could say more, but the list is too lengthy for me to highlight in this post, blog, column, and article.

What I’m speaking on this morning are palpable fundamental rights. But for some of us, this is still not the case as we’ve seen another life tragically lost with a knee literally in his neck. But you know, we look at the white people putting their knee on our neck. But in actuality, we must hold ourselves accountable for a lot of the tragedy and disorder in our African American (Black) race. If Black Lives Matters, we should stop killing and destroying each other!!! There are more black men, women, and children destroyed every day by another African American (Black). Black on Black crime must be a focal point if Black Lives Matter!!! Murder, back-stabbing, slander, Uncle Tomming, gossiping, jealousy, hatred, robbing, and stealing destroys or devastates the life of fellow black men, women, and children. If there’s no peace in your black communities, it’s because there’s no ethical justice.

We have made it easy for the white man to come in and put his knee on our neck; he replaces the black knee with his. And we scream Black Lives Matter, No Peace, No Justice!!! Then we must first look into our racially charged backyards to start the process. We must stand up for justice and take the knee off of our people’s neck. Black people move out of black neighborhoods not just to look affluent but for many to escape the black knee on their neck. Black people put their knee on the necks of each other all the time. On many jobs, instead of helping one another out, black people talk about or scandalize another black person. Instead of giving a black brother or sister a heads up, they’ll be the key witness and lie and act like they don’t know anything – putting a knee on another black person’s neck. A black man or woman recovers from immorality, our very own black people put a knee on their neck instead of extending a hand of agape love. Black family relationships are severed not because black lives matter but because pride, arrogance, and bigotry have subdued and colorized the walls of the weak and soft. And They don’t realize or understand that they have a knee on their neck – No Peace No Justice?

Beloved, everyone deserves to live without a knee on their neck. The most applicable and most priceless thing we have is to live a life without a knee on our neck. “LIFE” shouldn’t be forced out of you based on the color of your skin nor the desire, or moral objective you desire. Let me be more specific: Black people don’t deserve to be destroyed, for being black or following their honest desires. Every time I see another black person unjustly killed or dreams destroyed, I’m like Come On Man!!! Really!!!! That could’ve been my wife, one of my sons, one of my daughters, one of my brothers, one of my sisters, one of my aunts, uncle, one of my nieces, one of my nephews, my grandchildren, one of my cousins.” That could have been one of my producers, one of my ministry associates, one of my friends.

As many of you know, my ministry is an online outreach ministry- our ministry design is to reach out and touch people’s hearts and minds using informative Biblical principles.

So, in essence, by default, we’re all benefiting from black culture in some form or fashion. I hope that we all feel some way about what’s going on. We have a long way to go as far as tangible change. But I love what’s going on with the protests—challenging conversations, and the solidarity on social media. I hope we all do something to help, and I hope we DO NOT let the revolution slowly die out as it has previously.

    ***Beloved, Everyone Has Their Part.

It’s not always easy to get people to speak out, especially for something specific. We all have a social media platform, which makes it easy to speak out for a cause. I think speaking out is an essential aspect. But, in my opinion, there’s no right or wrong way to support it. Long as you’re serving to promote, the wave in the direction of justice and equality, should flood the grounds of bigotry and drown irrational distorted thinking. We must all come together to advance Social Integrity and impartiality to remove the knee off our neck.

Beloved, as we end this week and head into the weekend, let’s all keep The George Floyd family in our prayers and do our part to make a difference. We all can do different things to support the cause:
*We can speak out using our platforms
*We can share appropriate content to help inform and spread knowledge on the relentless injustice and organized persecution of black people
*We can make music, paint a picture, write a poem that sheds light on the situation
*We can contribute to some praiseworthy causes
    *We can be out protesting
*We can push people in our families to get their butts out and vote

Beloved, the list goes on, there are so many avenues. So don’t be passive; it’s time to become a live-wire. It’s time to get the knee off our neck. Silence isn’t the answer when the breath of innocent people is being put on mute.

Have a blessed day and a Peaceful weekend Everyone.
