  • “Eclipse-Sign of End Times or Not”

    eclipsesHOW
    Praise the Lord Beloved.

I want to weigh in on the event of the Cosmological Eclipse that is happening today.

Many believe that this is the sign of the end times. But if you go back to
the last total eclipse visible from the contiguous United States was on a June 8th, 1918, and
many said that was the sign of end times.

Now, there are many biblical passages that are connected to end-times events with a cosmological marvel. The moon, sun, meteors, stars and obscure coverings (eclipse) are cited, linking Bible prophecies. For example, in Luke 21:25 Jesus was asked when the end times would occur, Jesus said, “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars.” Beloved, it’s normal that, whenever bizarre or infrequent planetary spectacles occur, many are curious if the end times are imminent.

But, we must remember that the Bible warns us about making “precise” predictions about the exact time of Jesus’ return. Now, don’t get me wrong here, Jesus will return!!! There’s no doubt in my mind that He’s on His way back. Romans 13:12 says: “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here”.

You see, right before Jesus returned to Heaven, He told His disciples that one day He would come back to launch His Kingdom. But, before that could happen, He told them that certain things had to happen.
And actually, we’re seeing many of those things happing now. Let me give you a quick example of what I am talking about: For example, in Mark 13. Jesus said that before He comes back, it’s necessary that the Gospel be preached all over the world. Beloved, at no time in the past, has this been conceivable!!! But it’s happening now. The Word of God is being preached everywhere, it’s on the radio all over the internet and many other contemporary communication platforms.

And there is one more sign Jesus mentioned. Satan’s last effort to stop God’s labor with an enormous ambush of malicious attacks. Sure, evil isn’t a stranger to our world. We all know that Satan has constantly worked hard to halt God’s crusades. But, the difference between now and the past, is God’s adversaries have an entry to the contemporary weapons of mass destruction. And the bad part about it is no one can foresee what the result will be. Jesus also said in Mark 13 and Matthew 24: “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. … Nation will rise against nation”.

But the real question that we should be asking is: “ARE WE READY FOR HIS RETURN?” Beloved, this is a question that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Let me tell you, eclipses and “blood moons” has always fueled end-time madness. Some people attach Matthew 24:29 to a planetary eclipse with the end times. But if you read Isaiah 13:10 it says: The heavens will be black above them; the stars will give no light.”

Beloved, during a cosmological eclipse, the sun is implicitly dark and the light that is usually mirrored by the moon is absent. Also, during a total eclipse, the light that is usually mirrored by the moon decreases immensely. So, yes, there does seem to be a possible connection between an eclipse and the end times.

But, what I’m trying to get across to all believing readers, is that there’s no way to precisely link any certain eclipse with the nirvana of end-time prediction. And to tell you the truth, eclipses are really, pretty common. A total cosmological eclipse occurs someplace on earth about once every 1 ½ years, and partial cosmological eclipses occurring quite a few times a year. Total eclipses occur almost every year in a lot of places in the world.

Beloved, after Jesus spoke those words that are documented in Matthew 24, there have been thousands of total and partial, cosmological and planetary eclipses. And as you can see up to this day, not one of them has appeared to have had any implication to end-times Bible prophecy. So, really there’s no way to know if a particular forthcoming eclipse will have a link to the end times.

Now, many who predict these Biblical events, don’t tell “THE REST OF THE STORY.
It’s imperative that we look at what Jesus said in Matthew 24, which is recognized as the “Olivet Discourse.”

Beloved, the possible eclipse is just one of numerous signs that Jesus references. Here’s verse 29 in its entirety: 2 “Immediately after the anguish of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”
I have found that most people focus on the dark sun and the moon, but they have a tendency, to disregard the stars falling and the planets shaking. Also, Beloved, Jesus specifies that this sign will come “instantly after the suffering (anguish),” That actually references us to the abomination of desolation in verse 15.

Verse 21 tells us that this will be a time when “there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again”. As a matter of fact, verse 22 says it will be very appalling during that time. It says: “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive”. Beloved, right here, it tells us that this will not be a regular eclipse that Jesus is talking about. It will be one that occurs in the middle of the tribulation with a multitude of other signs. It will be the worst time of trouble the world has ever seen.

I also want to remind you of what Jesus said in Matthew 24:36: Jesus said, no one knows the day or hour of His return. S0, since eclipses can be determined to the very second, one would think that an eclipse cannot be the exact time frame for Christ to return. So, for now, everyone’ inquisitiveness about when the rapture will transpire, or who the Antichrist will be, or when the tribulation begins, or exactly what is the abomination of desolation, will have to continue to be unfulfilled at this time.

You know, the Apostle Peter has given us gives some great advice about the end times. In 2 Peter 3:11-12 he says: “ Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames”.

Beloved, it isn’t until we see these things occur that we’ll see the new creation, Verse 13 says:
“a world filled with God’s righteousness.”

Beloved, I’m sure many of you like myself are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth that have been promised to us. I’m speaking of a world jam-packed with God’s righteousness. Beloved as we wait for Christ’s return we must activate our life in Christ, according to the will of God, which means living spiritually correct and with eagerness for His return. Let me tell you, frustrating yourself trying to analyze or estimate when the of end-times events will occur by constructed cosmological wonders, isn’t what the Bible informs us to dwell on.

God Bless you and have a great evening.
