  • “Concentrating On The Bigger Picture”

    2 14 2020 Bishop Houston's Weekend Words Proverbs 20 3
You know, Beloved, I’ve found that many of the encounters and disputes we face are diversions from the adversary to prevent us from following our objective. Maybe someone in the department or agency you work in or for isn’t as welcoming or pleasant to you as you’d like. Perhaps you have a neighbor who always parks in front of your house and blocks your mailbox or hangs out outside your cubicle to hold their random conversations with other fellow employees. Those things may be irritating, but they have little importance when you look at it from the broader perspective – “eternity.” Beloved, you can’t permit the small issues to trigger discord in your life.

David and Goliath is an excellent illustration. Just before David battled the giant Goliath, his brother Eliab tried to confront him. But David knew that squabbling with Eliab was senseless, and it didn’t merit his time or energy. He understood his actual confrontation was with Goliath, and he didn’t want to be distracted. He turned away from Eliab and kept his concentration on what he was informed to do.

Beloved, as we end this week and head into the weekend. Let’s follow the illustration set by David and stay focused on what’s more extremely vital in life. Instead of being escorted away by annoyances, let’s keep our eyes on the bigger picture. Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have an enjoyable Friday and a wonderful weekend, everyone.
    ✝️❤️😊

  • “The Proper Concentration During Rough Times”

The Proper ConcentrationFocal Scripture: Philippians 1:12-20

Praise, the Lord Beloved, Happy Wednesday to you.
Welcome to CHOF Bible Fellowship Mid-Week Word.

Beloved, Paul didn’t look at himself as a victim. Regardless of the tremendous corporeal punishment he was enduring and emotional turmoil, he believed he was under God’s sovereign hand. So instead of growing angry and walking away from the faith, the apostle turned to the Lord and continued to mature spiritually.

You know, we can learn much from Paul. He was determined to focus on God’s sovereignty rather than his own will. It’s easy to be hostile, angry, MAD, over the disorder “CONFUSION” that another person has caused in our lives. But, the minute we start thinking that our enemies are in control, we’re defeated. The Bible says in Psalm 103:19 that God “has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all”. He’s in complete control. We may not understand His reasons for permitting hardship or pain in our lives, but His plan is always for our good and His glory (Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”.

Furthermore Beloved, believers can learn from Paul’s commitment to focus on positive results rather than on personal agony, distress or pain. Pain, whether in the body or in our mind, often absorbs all of a person’s attention. But, there’s no victory to be had when we dwell on our hurts. God has a plan for that anguish, torment and pain. And Paul is a good example. He rejoiced when the gospel spread to the Praetorian Guard “his jailers”.

Beloved, as I end this morning’s Wednesday word to you, I leave you with this: difficult circumstances are crossroads in the believer’s life. If you take the path of blaming God for your strife, you’ll be dealing with resentment (anger, bitterness, hatred) and negativity. But if you focus on our heavenly Father’s love and provision, you’ll find trust, belief, confidence in other word “OPTIMISM” as you pursue the plans God has for you.

Beloved God’s way is the best way when you are going through rough times.

    Have a blessed Wednesday Everyone.

  • Concentration That Brings Confidence

    1st Timothy 6:9

    Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
    Happy Friday to everyone.

Well the weekend is upon us once again and you know,
weekends seem to be the days that many choices must made. You know non-Christians live with a false sense of security. They assume that what is important in this life is the physical and material. But there is no safety in things. Those whose drive (determination) is affluence and fitness rather than God find that their visions or desire either go unfulfilled or leave them frustrated. Christians hook their focus into the solid rock of Jesus Christ. His Words are ALWAYS TRUE and HIS PROMISES ARE NEVER BROKEN.

Beloved, for a Christian, the best choice a Christian can make is to choose to
concentrate on his or her confidence on the Lord Jesus Christ. Beloved, this weekend welcome whatever fits His will for your life, and turn away from all that doesn’t. Circumstances may cause modification, but Jesus never does. So, Beloved, concentrate on Jesus and He’ll help you make the right choices confidently this weekend.

Have a Blessed Weekend Everyone!!! 😀
