  • CHOF Ministry’s Weekend Word

    CHOF Ministry's

    Beloved,

    another weekend is upon us.

As we approach this weekend ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hypocrisy or self-deception,
pride, or arrogance, where you really trust more in yourself or someone or something else
    than you trust in Christ.

Decide that in every moment of this weekend and the days to come,
Jesus is the first person you will look to for help and comfort.
He is your best friend and wisest counselor.

    Beloved,
when you set this simple priority,
to trust Him first, you will find yourself living a life that means something.

    Have a blessed Weekend everyone.

    Weekend gift:
    (Psalm 55:22)

  • “Is It OK or Not for Christian Men to Wear Long Hair”

Is it OK or not for Christian Men to Wear Long Hair
    Praise the Lord!!!

Another tremendous question has been asked
by an awesome member In CHOF Christian Fellowship
    (Facebook Spiritual Group)

    Smc Heartsaver asked:
“Is it not a shame for a man to wear long hair?”

Men with long hair is something some Christians don’t like at all.
I have even heard some say that it’s unbiblical to have long hair and many refer to
the verse in 1 Corinthians 11:14 as their back up verse.
But at this time I want to get rid of all misconceptions concerning this controversial issue.

    Now,
to understand 1 Corinthians 11:14 we need to understand what the situation was like in Corinth
during the time Paul spoke these words.
At this time Corinth was known for its immorality and perversity
and the men that had long hair were sexual perverted.

    Paul,
wrote this letter because he didn’t want the men in the church to be misrepresented or thought of
    as being perverted.
This is why he wrote these words in 1 Corinthians 11:14.

    So we can see here,
this “IS NOT” God’s commandment to all people throughout all times,
but Paul’s “SPECIAL ADVICE” for the people in Corinth, at that time!!!

Another interesting thing is that in 1 Corinthians 11:6 the prostitutes (women) in Corinth had short hair
or shaven heads and Paul didn’t want the women in the church to be taken for prostitutes.
So that’s why he told the females in the church to not cut their hair off.
Again as we can see here this was Paul’s “SPECIAL ADVICE” for the women in Corinth in that time
and “IS NOT” God’s commandment to all Christians throughout all times.

Now with this being clarified, let’s look into another scripture that talks about long hair.

    Numbers 6:1-5 says:
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites: ‘If men or women want to promise to belong to the Lord in a special way, they will be called Nazirites.
During this time, they must not drink wine or beer, or vinegar made from wine or beer.
They must not even drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.
While they are Nazirites, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine,
even the seeds or the skin.

“‘During the time they have promised to belong to the Lord, they must not cut their hair.
They must be holy until this special time is over.
*They must let their hair grow long.*

Now this scripture talks about the Nazirites.
The Nazirites were people that had devoted themselves to God and given Him a pledge.
As a sign of their pledge they didn’t drank wine and they “LET THEIR HAIR GROW LONG!!!”

    That’s right
they let their hair grow long and their long hair was the “outer sign” to people around them
that they had devoted themselves to God.
Their long hair was a clear SIGN OF HOLINESS!!!

Look at Samson (Judges 13:5, 16:19).
He was a Nazirite from the moment he was born.
He let his hair grow and didn’t cut it,
and through God that was a source of his strength.
But when he played with his anointing and his hair was cut he immediately lost his strength.

Another man in the Bible that seems to have been a Nazirite was the prophet Samuel
    (1 Samuel 1:11).

    So as we can see,
God have nothing against long hair. The Bible also says clearly in 1 Samuel 16:7
that “God doesn’t look on our outer look but He looks at our hearts!!!”

    Friends,
God doesn’t care if you have long or short hair, what’s important isn’t your hair length
but that you’re living for Him.

To sum it up we can see that God have nothing against men having long hair.
All in all believers should look and behave in ways that are honorable in their own culture.
In many cultures long hair on men is considered appropriate and masculine.
In Corinth it was thought to be a sign of a perverted male in the pagan temples.
And women with short hair were labeled prostitutes.

Paul said that in the Corinthian culture, the Christian women should keep their hair long.
If short hair on women was a sign of prostitution, then a Christian woman with short hair would find it difficult to be a believable witness for Jesus Christ.

Also, Paul wasn’t saying we should adopt all the practices of our culture but that we should avoid
appearances and behavior that diminishes our ultimate goal of being witnesses for Christ.

  • “Is It OK or Not, For Christian Women To Wear Jewelry, Braided Hair, Make-up?”

Christian Women Jewlery make up braided hair

    Praise the Lord Beloved!!!
A great question was asked in our CHOF Christian Fellowship Facebook
    spiritual group this morning
“Is it Ok or not for Christian women to wear jewelry?”

Well here is my answer for anyone that has this same question.

    In First Samuel 16:7 (NCV)
    it says:
God does not see the same way people see.
People look at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

    1 Timothy 2:9-10 (NCV) says:
Also, women should wear proper clothes that show respect and self-control,
not using braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
10 Instead, they should do good deeds, which is right for women who say they worship God.

    Now,
Paul didn’t prevent women from wearing jewelry, makeup,
or braided hair, but he explains to them that women should not to their outward
appearance to become more important than their inner beauty.

    Also in 1 Peter 3:3-4,
Peter gives a divine statement, he says:
It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God.

    So as you can see,
there’s nothing wrong with wearing jewelry, makeup,
or braided hair as long as it is done in a modest manner.
The Bible says a woman shouldn’t be so focused on her outward appearance
that she neglects her inner spiritual life.

    Beloved,
the Bible focuses on the heart
    (mind and emotions).

So if a woman is spending too much of her time and money
on her appearance, the problem is that the woman’s priorities are wrong.
Expensive jewelry and clothing are the results of the problem, not the problem itself.

    Have a blessed day.

  • NONNEGOTIABLE

    Morning Bible Verse

    Praise the Lord Beloved!!!

You know whether we admit it or not, we know that an unholy agreement
    cannot produce holy matrimony.

    That’s right beloved.
You see, the elusive serpent has gone deeper
    than that!!!
He has many wonderful, well-meaning Christians praising, worshiping, and going to church,
but in the stillness of the night, when no one else
is around they lie in bed in the privacy of their homes, pull out guilt, scars and memories
    and play with the dead.

    Beloved,

if it’s dead “and it is” then bury it!!!
You must release the pain from the memory.
The link that keeps you tied to what is past
    must be broken.

I am in agreement with you right now
    in the name of Jesus
that those unsettled and unsettling issues
that keep holding you in the night and affecting you in the light are broken by the power of God!!!

Now Go And Walk In Your Salvation!!!
