  • “Exalting Is Better than Contrition”

    1 10 2020 Bishop Houston's Weekend Words Ezra 10 10
You know, when we’ve failed to achieve our goal or do something that causes a negative consequence feeling guilty is our primary characteristic. We have a tendency to feel terrible about the choice because of the adverse conclusion, which eventually precedes to self-criticism.

Allow me to bless you with a tip from the word this morning. 😊
After you’ve failed to achieve your goal or do something that causes a negative consequence, start praising and thanking the Lord. Thank the Lord for His unending love, His endless compassion and understanding we have through His Son Jesus. Thank God for His grace and mercy. Thank God that you’re not destroyed or rebuked when you come up short of your desired goal.
Beloved, everything in us direct toward thinking embarrassing thoughts, make us feel uncomfortable, and very remorseful about what we’ve done. Others will even get on the bashing, negative branding, and banishing bandwagon to make us feel even worse about our choices. Beloved, GIVING INTO GUILT DOESN’T GIVE GOD GLORY!!! What glorifies God is recognizing, and accepting, all the things (love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, Jesus) He’s made free access to us that will eliminate the guilt of sin.
So, as you end this week and head into the weekend and you do something that causes a negative consequence, give God the praise and glory. Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    Let’s Pray Out:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your compassionate love, grace, and mercy, and for allowing Your Son Jesus to come into the world and bless us with the knowledge of how we should react when we make decisions that aren’t good quality choices and allowing us to know that beating ourselves up or letting others script their smear tactics is not the proper response or reaction You desire. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, I pray, Amen and Amen.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have an enjoyable Friday and a fabulous weekend everyone. ✝️❤️😊
  • “The Inevitable Choice”

New Monday Morning Blog Hebrews 9 27 28
    Praise the Lord Beloved!!! 😀

    Happy Monday to you all!!!

You know, there are many opportunities in life, especially for those who live in a relatively free country. Where we live, whom we marry, and what kind of career we pursue, all these are very much influenced by our requirements and choices. But there’s one event over which we have no control, and that’s our appointment with death.

Adam and Eve, the very first human beings, actually did have a choice regarding life and death. In Gen. 2:17, God gave Adam the command not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, He said, “for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die”. But Adam and Eve did eat of the forbidden tree, and sin and death became a relentless companion of the human race from that day forward. In the genealogy of mankind, as recorded in Genesis 5, one phrase repeatedly drives this point home: “And He Died.”

Beloved, although we can no longer choose whether to live or die, there was one other man who could. His name was Jesus Christ. In the book of John, (John 10:17-18) He said, “I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me”. Jesus, the eternal Son of God and source of all life, chose to take on human flesh in order to die on the cross as an expense for the sins of mankind.

Let me tell you Beloved, because Jesus chose death, man can now have life eternal by believing in Him. Our human bodies will one day die, but if we’ve trusted in Christ’s death as the payment for our sins, we’ll be resurrected as He was and enter heaven to be with Him forever. 😀

Have a blessed Monday and a Marvelous Week Everyone. 😀
  • “THERE IS SO MUCH IMMORALITY IN THE WORLD – WHY?”

THERE IS SO MUCH IMMORALITY IN THE WORLD web title picture

    Here Is Today’s Question

    Glogus Utilly asked:

Bishop Houston, our world is filled with so much violence and many crooked people. I want to believe God exist, but it is hard for me to be a believer when there is so much immoral behavior and twisted minds. Can you explain to me why is God letting this happen if He exist?
    (Glogus Utilly)

Thank you for your question Glogus Utilly.

    Answer:

You know, this is a tough and awkward question that I’m sure many people are wanting an answer for. Well, the most unpretentious way to look at this question is to inspect God’s nature and His desire for the creative human.

So, let’s look at God’s reason.
God loves us and wants us to love Him back. So, how could we love Him back unless we have the liberty to not love?

Sure, God could have created us to be like machines who don’t do anything but say, “I love you. I love you. I love you.” But that would be forceful and not real love or in other the words the love God has created.

    Love is an action word

Glogus love is an action word so that makes love a choice. So, if you have a choice you must be able to choose not to love and that in itself is the nature of immoral behavior and twisted minds. You see, a malicious mind chooses not to love. So, when God gave us the freedom to choose, He gave us not only our greatest blessing, but He also gave us our greatest curse because we can choose to do right or choose to do wrong.

So, the reason there’s so much unrest, immorality and many twisted minds in the world isn’t because of God, but because God gave us the freedom to choose.

Now the possibility for love outweighs the existence of depravity because unrest, immorality, and twisted minds will only exist for a short time, but love is going to go on forever. All of the misery, sadness, and death that we see in the world today are a result that man/women have selected by making wrong choices.

    bad character choices
Glogus, God could have taken our freedom, but He didn’t. I hope you’ll use your freedom to become a believer and choose God.

Thank you for your question Glogus Utilly.

  • Jesus Christ is the Right Choice

    Sunday Morning

Beloved, we’re overexposed to choices. Every day someone will try to tell us that we need one more thing in order to make our lives complete.

The truth is, when we find what works, or what is right, or what we like, no one should be able to tell us that we’re wrong. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one and nothing can ever take His place.

Beloved, we’re already Kingdom people. There’s no reason to try anything else.

Have a blessed Sunday Everyone. 😀
