  • “Repudiating The Ambitions of The Flesh”

    12 30 2019 Luke 9 23
    Greetings Everyone!!! 😊

Beloved, have you ever wondered what it means to deny ourselves? Well, I have, and it took me a long time to get it figured out. First, I had come to stop looking through rose-colored glasses and do what’s required to get to the point of realistically denying myself. I had to come to grips (be real with myself) that my flesh was going against everything God wanted me to do. You see, our flesh wants us to have corrupt ideas, feelings, and opinions, get drunk, get high, pass judgment on others, I could go down the list of sins because they go on and on and on. But I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. 😊

Beloved, if we want to become the person God created us to be, then we have to deny our personal desires so we can make room for the ambitions of Christ. Repudiating ourselves is only the first step. When we’re completely to the point of denying ourselves then we have to take up our cross “Every Day”. I’ll be the first to tell you it’s a difficult – challenging job, but that’s also why we have God’s strength to lean on. So, as we leave 2019 and grace the door of 2020 let’s walk into it properly by giving up our selfish desires and filling ourselves with God’s desires. Be mindful, there’ll be adversities that’ll come but let me tell you 😊 God will also open the windows of heaven and bless you with more than you can humanly imagine. Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, this earth is not my home. I shouldn’t excessively yearn for this place or the things of this place. All my aspirations should be on You and eternity. Strengthen me when I’m at my weakest and give me grace in challenging and complicated times, so I don’t fall into temptation. I thank You for loving me and I give my whole life to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Amen. ✝️❤️😊

Beloved, life is very short. It comes and goes like an unannounced gust of wind. None of us know the hour or day when that gust of wind will enter our earthly room and blow out our candle. So, reach out and touch the ones that need your agape, dissolve the divisions among you, continue to encourage one another, be united in the same mind, the same reasoning and continue to build one another up.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have an amazing Monday and a magnificent week. ✝️❤️😊

  • “DON’T SNUB JESUS IN 2020”

    11 29 2019 week 1 Bishop Houston's Sunday Morning Church Mark 11 27 12 12.png
Praise The Lord!!! Happy Holidays Everyone!!! ✝️❤️😊

As we all know 2020 is just a few days away and my question to you this morning is: “Do you have the correct cornerstone in place for 2020? You see, having the proper cornerstone or foundation stone is important because it’s the very first stone laid in a building. Architecturally it’s the stone on which the rest of the building is built. Ephesians 2:20-22 described Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone of the church.

In Mark 12 you’ll find the tenants in Jesus’ parable had an obligation and that obligation was to take care of the landlord’s land. Instead of dividing the fruit of the land with the owner, they disregarded his authority by denigrating and then murdering each messenger he sent to collect rent. Scripture tells us in Mark 12:5-6 the landlord sent “MANY” messengers, “some of them they beat, others they killed”. Finally, the landlord sent his son, “WHOM HE LOVED.” Instead of paying what was due, the tenants first admitted that this was certainly the son, and then, determined to kill him. Now look at this – these farmers had a rapport with the landlord. He was permitting them to work his land.

Beloved, he reached out to touch base with them constantly and good-naturedly. Finally, he decided to send his own son, and the laborers not only snubbed his efforts, “THEY KILLED HIS SON!!!. And Mark 12: 9 tells us that eventually, the farmers got the right punishment for their actions.

Some of Jesus’ parables are difficult to understand, but this isn’t one them. Mark 12:12 tells us the meaning of the parable was recognized by the religious leaders. They knew Jesus was speaking unambiguously to them. The religious teachers continued to ask Jesus who gave Him permission. In Mark 11:27-33, they directly confronted Jesus about His teaching and actions. Mark 11:28 they asked: “Who gave you the authority?” This occurs four other times in just these few verses (Mark 11:28, 29, 32).

Beloved, hypothetically it’s possible to run a church, a ministry, a home without the permission or power of Christ and His Word. It’s possible for a church, a ministry, a home to turn away from the gospel. Going into 2020 making Jesus your cornerstone should be the first order of business mandated. This morning’s parable shouldn’t be taken lightly, as a matter of fact, it’s a serious warning to all of us.

    Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for this morning’s Word. Let us all seriously take the warning in this parable into 2020. Help us make or secure Jesus as our cornerstone, pleasantly take care of our obligations, and share with Him what He’s due. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen and Aaamen.

  • Bouncing Back in 2020

    12 27 2019 Bishop Houston's Weekend Words Psalm 92 12
    Happy Holidays!!! 😊

I was watching a channel yesterday that was looking back at the 20 worst storms in history. I was in awe of the storms and the destruction they caused but what amazed me more was how so many of the palm trees that were in the midst of those massive storms bent over and were actually touching the ground, but when the wild winds and rain stopped the palm trees sprung back up as if nothing ever happened.

According to my research, the palm tree actually becomes stronger while it’s bent over under pressure.

Beloved, God gave the illustration of the palm tree because it exemplifies how we’ll overcome and spring back after our stormy trials and tribulations. God knows the storms we’ll encounter way before they indulge onto the foundation we’re standing on. We’re like that tree planted by the river!!!😊 (*1)

We all have storms – some of us have had many storms. You must keep the faith during your storms. They may look and feel atrocious, but God has supplied you with palm tree strength and after the storm is over, you’ll bounce right back with more intensity and persistence.

Beloved, as you end this week and head into the weekend look toward the new year reflect on the occurrences in 2019. The turbulences you encountered in 2019 made you stronger and wiser. Your wisdom has become keener, you’re more focused, and believe victory is waiting for you in 2020.

Beloved, your happiest days are fast approaching!!! 😊 And it’s also good to remember Romans 8:31 (AMP) “What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us?” Amen? Aaamen. ✝️❤️😊

    Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for entrenching Your strength in me. I have no doubt that You’re working in my life, even when I’m going through the rough storms. Thank You for allowing me to once again see the doors of a new year and a new season of approved good things. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, I pray, Amen and Amen.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have a pleasant Friday and a fantastic weekend everyone. ✝️❤️😊
