Momentum Maxim #1: One Step That Breaks the Enemy 🚶🏿‍♂️

“It only takes one surrendered step to break the enemy’s momentum.”
– Bishop W. F. Houston Jr.

Our Philosophical Root:

  • Step (Greek: βάσις, basis): A foundation, a pace, an act of forward movement.
  • Surrender (Hebrew: עֲנָוָה, anavah): Humility, yielding—especially in the presence of God.
  • Enemy (Latin: inimicus): One who opposes, stands against, or resists.

    Meaning:
In the ancient context, a “step” (basis) is more than movement—it is a declaration of trust. Surrender (anavah) is that holy humility that weakens the adversary’s grip. The enemy’s momentum is broken the moment you move with obedience and trust.

🤔There have been seasons in my life where the enemy’s pressure seemed relentless moments when standing still felt safer than risking the unknown. But I can testify: breakthrough doesn’t come from waiting until you feel strong or certain. Every time I took a step of obedience, even when my knees were shaking, God met me right there. That act of surrender—trusting Him enough to move—was what broke the grip of fear and confusion in my life. I’ve seen the atmosphere shift the moment I stopped analyzing and simply obeyed.

Beloved, it’s not about the size of your step, but the surrender behind it. The enemy loses ground when you choose to move forward in faith. This week, don’t wait for perfect clarity—take the step God is prompting. Obedience is the only step you need to shatter the enemy’s plans.

Let Us Go Into The Throne Room of Grace and Mercy:

    Heavenly Father 👑,
Thank You for the grace to move when fear tries to keep us stagnant. Teach us to surrender every hesitation, and help us obey even when the path seems uncertain. Let each step we take in faith break the enemy’s momentum in our lives.
In Jesus’ mighty name, To God Be The Glory. 🙏🏿
