C H O F Ministry: “Where Scripture Meets Innovation” 🙌🏿
Greetings, valiant warriors navigating the storms of life with your shield of faith! ✨
“A fragile faith tested in fire reveals whether we’ve built on sand or stone – it’s in our moments of deepest doubt that true conviction is either shattered or solidified.”
– Bishop W. F. Houston, Jr. Theological Educator & Spiritual Inspirationalist ✝️
Divine Revelation: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Luke 22:31-32 (KJV) 📖
Our Philosophical Term For Today: “Epistemological Crisis” (ἐπιστημολογική κρίση) (Greek) 🏛️ Meaning: A profound disruption in one’s framework of understanding that forces a reevaluation of what one knows and how one knows it. This term describes the intellectual and spiritual turmoil when foundational beliefs are severely challenged, leaving one in a state of cognitive dissonance between what was once certain and what now appears uncertain.
I remember counseling a young minister who came to my office with tears streaming down his face. His wife had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and his once-vibrant declarations of healing suddenly felt hollow. “Bishop,” he whispered, “I’ve preached faith to others for years, but now mine feels like glass – ready to shatter at any moment.” In that sacred space of vulnerability, we discovered that fragile faith isn’t failed faith – it’s faith being forged. 🤔
Beloved, when your faith feels fragile, remember that even the disciples – who walked with Jesus physically – experienced moments when their belief hung by a thread. Peter’s denial, Thomas’s doubt, and the disciples’ fear during the storm all reveal the natural fragility of human faith. The beauty of Christianity isn’t found in unshakable certainty but in pursuing relationship with God even when certainty eludes us. When your prayers seem to hit the ceiling, when Scripture feels distant, and when God’s silence is deafening – these are not signs of spiritual failure but invitations to a deeper, more authentic faith journey. The fragility of your faith today may be God’s way of breaking religious performance to establish genuine spiritual dependence. 🌈
Let Us Go Into The Throne Room of Grace and Mercy: Heavenly Father 👑 We come before You acknowledging the fragility of our human hearts and minds. There are seasons when our faith feels threadbare, when doubts overwhelm certainty, and when Your presence seems distant. We thank You that in these very moments, like Peter, Your Son is praying that our faith fails not. Transform our fragile faith into flexible faith – not brittle and breakable but resilient and adaptive. May our questions become pathways to deeper wisdom rather than barriers to belief. When we cannot hold onto faith firmly, we praise You for holding onto us. In Jesus’ mighty name, To God Be The Glory. 🙏🏿
🚶♀️🚶♂️Walking with you through seasons of both certainty and doubt, I’m Bishop W. F. Houston Jr., Theological Educator & Spiritual Inspirationalist reminding you that authentic faith embraces both strength and fragility!
