🌞 Good morning, Beloved! May today’s message strengthen your spirit and sharpen your discernment.

Divine Revelation: 1 John 4:1 (CSB)
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

The journey of faith is rich and mysterious, yet at every turn, we encounter impostors—voices and influences cloaked in light but leading us into shadow. They disguise themselves as wisdom, appeal to our desires, and promise shortcuts. These spiritual counterfeits slip into our lives with ease, as they appear in well-spoken advice, tempting opportunities, and even moments of seeming peace. But beneath these facades lies a subtle darkness, ready to divert our path and weaken our resolve.

Have you ever wondered why these counterfeits are so prevalent? They thrive in our deepest needs and vulnerabilities, offering what feels like relief but is truly bondage. Spiritual counterfeits create confusion, isolating us from God’s truth by substituting convenience for commitment and temporary gratification for eternal peace. Now, there may be someone asking: “Bishop Houston, can we identify these voices when they whisper false promises into our lives, when they lead us subtly away from the truth, or when they blur our vision of Christ? And how do we know what’s true when the counterfeits look and feel so real?”

Well, I’m glad you asked! Those are great questions. 🙂

Beloved, to overcome these shadows, we must sharpen our discernment through the Word and through prayer. Anchoring ourselves in God’s truth is the way to shine light on deception and recognize the genuine voice of the Holy Spirit. Every moment we spend with God fortifies us, filling us with His wisdom and revealing the subtle lies that try to erode our spiritual foundation. Seek His light today, Beloved, for it will always expose and dispel what isn’t of Him.
